Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Heart Rate app ("Heart Rate," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related features.
App: Heart Rate
Last Updated: May 15, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Heart Rate iOS app and the features currently implemented in the app, including camera-based heart measurements, Apple Health integrations, wellness insights, subscription paywalls, feedback, analytics, review prompts, onboarding, and notification support.
This Policy does not control the privacy practices of Apple, the App Store, Apple Health, Apple subscriptions, or third-party services that have their own policies.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Profile details you choose to enter, such as sex, age, height, weight, and preferred units.
- Manual wellness entries you create inside the app, such as supported blood pressure or oxygen-related records.
- Feedback content and any contact details you choose to provide through the in-app feedback form.
2.2 Camera-Based Measurement Information
- The app uses your device camera and flash to estimate heart-related wellness metrics from fingertip signal changes.
- Measurement outputs may include heart rate, HRV-related values such as RMSSD and SDNN, heart-age estimates, arrhythmia-related summaries, stress/recovery/body-state interpretations, and related trend information.
- Camera frames are intended to be processed for measurement functionality rather than uploaded as raw video by us.
2.3 Apple Health and Device Health Information
If you grant permission, the app may read selected categories from Apple Health, such as sleep, step count, walking distance, walking speed, active energy, resting energy, and other supported health records available through HealthKit.
2.4 Usage, Device, and Diagnostics Information
- App interaction events, such as screen views, tab selections, onboarding completion, measurement start/completion, paywall impressions, purchase flows, share actions, health authorization flows, and review prompts.
- Limited device and technical information, such as app version, operating system, crash logs, diagnostics, and attribution or subscription metadata.
- Limited measurement-related values may be included in analytics events where implemented in the app, such as heart rate and HRV-derived metrics tied to measurement completion or result views.
2.5 Subscription and Billing Information
Subscriptions are processed through Apple and subscription management services used by the app. We do not receive your full payment card number. We may receive subscription status, entitlement state, product identifiers, purchase outcomes, restore status, and similar transaction metadata.
2.6 Notifications
If you allow notifications, we or our notification service providers may collect a push token, delivery status, and notification engagement information.
2.7 Advertising and Attribution Information
The app includes advertising and attribution SDKs. These providers may collect device identifiers, app identifiers, broad device metadata, ad interaction data, and campaign or attribution information under their own privacy frameworks.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide measurement, wellness, education, subscription, and personalization features.
- Support Apple Health-based summaries, insights, and trend views when you have granted permission.
- Improve product performance, onboarding, retention, feature design, paywall strategy, and review timing.
- Monitor bugs, crashes, reliability issues, fraud risk, subscription state, and service quality.
- Support advertising operations, attribution, and aggregate campaign performance analysis.
- Respond to feedback, support requests, and app quality concerns.
4. How Information Is Shared
We may share information with service providers that help operate the app. Based on the current implementation, these may include providers for analytics, crash reporting, attribution, push notifications, subscriptions, and advertising.
Examples reflected in the app code include:
- Firebase services for analytics, remote configuration, and crash reporting.
- Adjust for attribution and event measurement.
- Adapty for subscription and paywall infrastructure.
- Google Mobile Ads for ad delivery and ad-related measurement.
- OneSignal for push notification support.
We do not state that all health-related information stays entirely offline. The app is designed to keep core Apple Health records and raw camera frames local where possible, but some measurement outcomes and usage events may be transmitted to third-party providers as part of analytics, subscriptions, diagnostics, or attribution flows.
5. Health, Camera, and Measurement Data
5.1 Health and Wellness Purpose
The app is intended for wellness, habit support, and personal awareness. It is not marketed as a replacement for clinical diagnosis, emergency response, or medical monitoring equipment.
5.2 Camera Permissions
Camera access is requested so the app can perform fingertip-based heart measurement features. If you deny camera access, measurement features that depend on the camera may not work.
5.3 Apple Health Permissions
Health permissions are optional. If you decline Apple Health access, the app may still work, but some summaries, explanations, and insights may be less personalized.
5.4 Sensitive Wellness Information
Because the app may process or transmit limited wellness-related metrics, you should review this Policy carefully before using those features. If you do not want the app to access Apple Health or camera-based measurement features, you may disable those permissions in iOS Settings.
6. Your Choices
- Camera: You can deny or revoke camera permission in iOS Settings.
- Apple Health: You can manage Health access by category in iOS Settings and the Health app.
- Notifications: You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Profile and manual entries: You can edit in-app profile information and supported manual records from the app interface where those controls are provided.
- App removal: Deleting the app removes locally stored app data from the device, but it does not cancel active subscriptions managed by Apple.
7. Data Retention
Retention varies by data type:
- Locally stored profile, measurement, and supported health context may remain on your device until you delete the app, overwrite records, or remove them where controls exist.
- Apple Health data retention is governed by Apple Health and your device settings.
- Third-party service providers may retain analytics, crash, subscription, attribution, and notification data according to their own retention schedules and legal obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures intended to protect information handled by the app. However, no mobile app, device, transmission channel, or service provider environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children’s Privacy
The app is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use the service without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable law, please contact us so we can review the issue.
10. International Processing
Some service providers used by the app may process information in countries other than your own. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed in locations where privacy protections may differ from those in your jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal updates, service-provider changes, or operational needs. The updated version will replace the prior version once published.
